| Obverse description | Circular raised relief set within a square flan, featuring the fourth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, diademed and draped, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left of the circular border, with NIUE and the date 2018 continuing along the upper right. The denomination 1 DOLLAR appears along the lower border, flanked by raised dots. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation of the bust, and the mint mark (mw) is incuse below the portrait.
