Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicting the Queen wearing a diamond diadem and drop earrings, with finely detailed coiffure. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation. The circular legend reads ELIZABETH II · EAST CARIBBEAN STATES · 1 DOLLAR, with the date 2021 positioned in the lower exergue. The antique-finish field exhibits a brushed, textured appearance characteristic of the antiqued treatment applied to this issue.

Reverse description A fully colored, high-relief depiction of a heavily armed Anglo-Saxon warrior dominates the central field, rendered in vivid polychrome. The warrior stands three-quarter view, clad in a conical nasal helmet with aventail, a fur-trimmed red tunic with yellow braid, and a broad leather belt. He brandishes a large battle-axe in his right hand and bears a round shield decorated in red and black with a central boss on his left arm. A massed formation of warriors with spears and shields recedes into the uncolored, antiqued background, evoking the scale of an early medieval host. The legend SAXONS arcs across the upper portion of the field in bold raised lettering.
