| Obverse description | The obverse displays the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, shown as a right-facing diademed bust set within an elaborate scrollwork cartouche inspired by Fabergé decorative motifs. The legend NIUE ISLAND arcs along the upper rim, with the denomination 1 DOLLAR running vertically along the left field and the date 2012 along the right field.
