Reverse description The rectangular reverse field presents a richly detailed color-printed reproduction of a Baroque-style engraving depicting the biblical scene from Acts 3:1-10, in which the Apostles St. Peter and St. John heal a lame man at the gate of the Temple in Jerusalem. The central composition shows the crippled man crouched in the lower left foreground, his infirmity conveyed through contorted posture, while St. Peter extends his hand toward him in an act of miraculous healing. St. John and additional figures, including bystanders and onlookers, are arranged in the middle and background, framed by architectural columns and a doorway. The scene is rendered in warm sepia and amber tones with a textured, aged-parchment surround, evoking the aesthetic of an Old Master print.
