Obverse description The obverse presents a gold-colored relief of an ornate Russian Orthodox church facade with characteristic onion domes topped by crosses, rendered in high relief with selective gold coloring against the polished silver field. Centered within the church archway, at lower middle, appears the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a diamond tiara, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed below the portrait, with NIUE ISLAND along the left border and 1 DOLLAR at upper right. The fineness mark Ag 999 / 0.5 oz appears at lower left, and the date 2013 at lower right. The Mint of Poland mintmark (MW) is visible at lower left beneath the church facade.

Reverse description The reverse features a finely detailed color-printed icon of Saint Nicholas of Myra (Sanctus Nicolaus de Myra) in traditional Byzantine iconographic style, set within a recessed square panel at the center of the coin. The saint is depicted in bishop's vestments, facing forward, holding an open Gospel book in his left hand and offering a blessing with his right; flanking figures of saints appear in the icon background. Four ornate gilded cross ornaments set with red gemstones are applied at the four corners of the square field, adding a decorative three-dimensional element. The circular legend SANCTUS NICOLAUS DE MYRA runs along the inner border surrounding the icon. A small cross finial is affixed at the bottom center of the coin below the icon panel.
