| Obverse description | The full Bahamian national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield with a British galleon and a rising sun, supported dexter by a marlin and sinister by a flamingo, both naturalistically rendered. Above the shield rises an elaborate crest consisting of a conch shell atop a helmet, flanked by tropical foliage. Below the shield, two scrolled banners bear the national motto in the legend: FORWARD UPWARD ONWARD TOGETHER. The circular outer legend reads COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS, and the date appears in the lower exergue, all contained within a beaded border. |
