| Obverse description | Rectangular gold planchet bearing, in the upper half, the diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, modeled after the Raphael Maklouf portrait, set within a circular arc. The legend ELIZABETH II curves along the left arc and TOKELAU 2022 along the right. Immediately below the effigy, a small ornamental vessel with a cross motif is depicted, beneath which a scroll cartouche bears the Tokelauan motto TOKELAU MO TE ATUA. The lower half of the obverse presents the denomination ONE DOLLAR on a prominent line, followed by the fineness statement 1/500 OZ FINE GOLD 999/1000, a facsimile signature of Leonardo da Vinci in cursive script, and the series inscription MASTERPIECES in capital letters along the base. |
