| Additional information |
Part of a broader commemorative program issued by Niue honoring World War II infantry forces of the Allied nations, this coin was produced under the licensing arrangements that have made Niue one of the most prolific small-nation issuers of collector silver since the 2000s — its actual population hovers around 1,500 people. The Soviet infantry it commemorates suffered casualties exceeding those of any other Allied force, with Red Army deaths estimated between 8 and 11 million.
