Obverse description Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the truncation. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim and SOLOMON ISLANDS along the upper rim, with the denomination 1 DOLLAR descending along the right rim. The date 2017 appears in the lower field. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field with a contrasting dark background sector.
