Obverse description The obverse presents the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by engraver Susan Taylor, depicting the monarch in right-facing portrait at approximately 77 years of age, bare-headed with hair styled upward. The Queen is shown wearing a necklace and drop earrings, rendered in fine relief against a flat field. The circumferential legend reads ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA, invoking the sovereign's title by the grace of God, and is positioned along the upper periphery of the coin.
