Issued in 2002 following the death of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother on 30 March at age 101, this British Virgin Islands commemorative was one of dozens of similar pieces produced across Commonwealth and associated territories that year. The BVI issues from this period were struck by the Pobjoy Mint and distributed primarily through collector channels rather than circulation.
