Tuvalu's ongoing licensed commemorative program has produced dozens of aviation-themed dollars under Australian licensing arrangements, with the Royal Australian Mint handling production for many issues in this series. The P-51 Mustang's inclusion is unsurprising given its Pacific Theater service record, though the type is more closely associated with the European air war — roughly 14,000 were built before production ended in 1945.
