Reverse description A common loon (Gavia immer) depicted in dynamic landing posture, wings fully spread and feet skimming the water surface amid rendered splash detail, occupying the central field. To the lower right, a pad-printed colour rendition of the Canadian Olympic Committee logo — a red maple leaf with an Olympic flame above the multicoloured Olympic rings — is prominently displayed. The legend 'CANADA' arcs along the upper periphery, with the date '2008' inscribed to the left of the central device, and 'DOLLAR' curved along the lower periphery. The engraver's initials 'GP' appear in the lower left field.
