Reverse description A detailed depiction of the National War Memorial in Ottawa, Ontario, as engraved by Ago Aarand, dominates the central field. The towering granite arch is surmounted by a bronze group representing Peace and Freedom, while a procession of bronze soldiers in relief is rendered at the base of the monument. Dates inscribed on the memorial's plinth reference the conflicts commemorated: 1914-1918, 1939-1945, and 1950-1953. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper left and DOLLAR along the upper right, separated by the monument's apex, all within a beaded border.
