Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait, diademed and draped, occupying the central field. The surrounding field displays the distinctive Widmanstätten crystalline pattern of the embedded Nantan iron meteorite fragment, lending an extraordinary extraterrestrial texture to the coin's surface. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery and NIUE along the upper right, with ONE DOLLAR continuing along the right margin. The date 2022 appears in the lower field, and the engraver's initials IRB are visible below the portrait truncation.

Reverse description A vivid full-color printed panoramic scene dominates the central band of the reverse, depicting multiple fireballs streaking through Earth's atmosphere as viewed from orbit, their luminous trails blazing orange and gold against the darkness of space above a night-lit terrestrial landscape. The upper field, executed in matte finish with the Widmanstätten crystalline texture of the meteorite, bears the legend .999 METEORITE in the topmost arc alongside a stylized meteorite logo. The name NANTAN appears on a polished rectangular banner immediately below, separating the upper meteorite-textured field from the colorized central scene. The lower field echoes the upper with the same meteorite surface texture, framing the composition.
