Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA
(Translation: Elizabeth II Queen by the grace of God)
Reverse description The reverse displays the officially licensed logo of the Montreal Canadiens NHL franchise, rendered in full colour at centre field. The emblem consists of a large red stylised letter 'C', outlined in blue, enclosing a smaller white letter 'H' with the letter 'C' intertwined — representing 'Club de Hockey Canadien' — reproduced in the team's traditional home jersey colours of red, white, and blue. The legend 'CANADA' arcs along the upper border and 'DOLLAR 2008' along the lower border, both incuse in the nickel field surrounding the coloured device. A registered trademark symbol appears to the lower right of the logo.
