| Reverse description | A full-rigged sailing ship navigates turbulent ocean waves at centre, set against a radiant rising sun whose rays extend outward across the field. The dual millennium dates '1999' and '2000' flank the vessel at mid-field, left and right respectively. The legend 'MILLENNIUM' arcs along the upper border, while the Bermuda motto 'QUO FATA FERUNT' ('Whither the Fates carry us') appears in the lower exergue area amid stylised waves. The entire composition is contained within the distinctive eight-lobed scalloped border. |

| Additional information |
Bermuda issued this dollar as part of a wave of millennium coinage that flooded Commonwealth mints in 1999 and 2000, most of it destined for collectors rather than tills. The island's small population and heavy reliance on tourism meant circulation coinage was already something of a formality by this period — local commerce ran heavily on the U.S. dollar in parallel.
