| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as a young sovereign, depicted at approximately 37 years of age and wearing a tiara, after the portrait model by Arnold Machin. The legend ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script, identifying the sovereign as Queen by the grace of God.
