| Obverse description | The obverse features a right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a diamond tiara, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the truncation. The bust is set within an elaborately engraved oval cartouche decorated with a fine diamond-pattern border. Above the cartouche, an ornate baroque-style architectural ornament is rendered in high relief, while symmetrical scrollwork, acanthus leaf motifs, and fan-shaped decorative elements fill the four lobed fields of the quatrefoil-shaped flan. Below the portrait, a traditional Tokelauan object is depicted, accompanied by the denomination ONE DOLLAR and the silver specification 1 oz. Ag999. The legends ELIZABETH II and TOKELAU 2018 flank the effigy on either side within the cartouche. |
