Additional information

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank issued this piece as part of a commemorative series marking British monarchs with historical ties to the Caribbean region. George III's reign coincided with the height of sugar plantation economies across the Windward and Leeward Islands, and with the territorial shifts following the Seven Years' War that consolidated British control over several Eastern Caribbean territories in 1763.

Gold-plated copper-nickel on a 28.28g flan is the standard vehicle for this class of ECCB commemorative — produced for the collector market rather than circulation, with the Royal Mint supplying blanks to specification.
