Released under the Perth Mint's ongoing celebrity licensing program, this piece was issued with authorization from the John Wayne Enterprises estate, which has aggressively monetized Wayne's likeness across collectibles since his death in 1979. Perth has produced similar pop-culture silver rounds for the Australian legal tender market since the early 2000s, packaging American iconography for an international collector base with little connection to the subject.
