Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted in right-facing profile wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a brushed field, with the engraver's initials IRB visible below the truncation. The circular legend surrounding the portrait reads QUEEN ELIZABETH II along the upper arc, while the lower arc carries the inscriptions 1oz, 9999, SILVER, 2020, TUVALU, and 1 DOLLAR. The entire composition is struck within the distinctive gear-shaped flan, whose twelve teeth form the outer boundary of the coin.

Additional information

Part of Perth Mint's ongoing bullion and collectible dollar program, this issue falls within a broader push by Australian mints in the 2010s and 2020s to capture collector premiums on fine silver rounds dressed as legal tender. The .9999 fineness is notably purer than the standard .999 used by most sovereign bullion programs, including the American Silver Eagle and Canadian Maple Leaf at the time of issue.
