| Reverse description | Helios, the Greek solar deity, is depicted as a muscular, semi-draped male figure standing upright in a golden quadriga chariot, holding the reins of four galloping white horses surging forward from roiling clouds. A dramatic radiate crown of gilt golden rays emanates from behind his head and shoulders against a deeply recessed, mirror-polished black field scattered with engraved constellations, planetary symbols, stars, and lunar phases in fine detail. The chariot wheel is highlighted in selective gold gilding, accentuating the neoclassical composition. The legend HELIOS is inscribed in bold relief at the top of the field. |
