| Obverse description | The obverse features a detailed relief depiction of an aircraft cockpit instrument panel, rendered with exceptional numismatic artistry, occupying the lower and central portion of the field. Set within a circular inset in the upper portion, contrasted against a black enamelled background, is the right-facing diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials 'IRB' appear below the truncation.
