Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the George IV State Diadem, drop earring, and pearl necklace, rendered in high relief after the Raphael Maklouf portrait. The legend ELIZABETH II curves along the left field and SOLOMON ISLANDS along the right, with the date 1995 appearing in the lower exergue. Designer's initials are visible at the truncation of the bust.

Reverse description Two coconut palm trees rising from a stylised tropical island rendered in the lower central field, flanked by the denomination numeral 1 to the left and the word DOLLAR to the right. The FAO emblem — an oval cartouche bearing the organisation's logo and the motto FIAT PANIS — is depicted at the top of the field, accompanied by the anniversary dates 1945–1995 marking the FAO's fiftieth anniversary. The legend FOOD FOR ALL curves along the lower border.
