| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing a tiara and necklace, occupying the central field. The peripheral legend reads 'ELIZABETH II' to the left and '1 DOLLAR COOK ISLANDS' to the right, all in raised Latin lettering. The date '2008' appears in the lower exergue. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and drapery, consistent with the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy style used on Commonwealth coinage of this period. |
