Obverse description Circular design set within a square flan featuring the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left, the date 2012 appears at the top centre, and NIUE ISLAND arcs along the upper right of the beaded border. The denomination 1/24th of 24 Dollars is inscribed in the lower field below the portrait, rendered in a contrasting italic script on the mirror-polished proof surface.

Reverse description Coloured rectangular field reproducing Albrecht Dürer's woodcut 'Coat of Arms of the Dürer Family' (1503), rendered in warm sepia and ochre tones against a parchment-textured background. The central composition depicts the Dürer family heraldic shield bearing an open door (a pun on the name Dürer, derived from 'Tür', meaning door), surmounted by a crested tournament helm adorned with a winged figure as crest, flanked by elaborate Renaissance acanthus mantling. At the upper centre, a banderole cartouche bears Dürer's monogram 'AD' alongside the date. The design faithfully captures the fine engraving style characteristic of Dürer's graphic work of the early sixteenth century.
