| Obverse description | The obverse features a stylized depiction of a locomotive driving wheel occupying the full field, rendered in high relief against a contrasting blackened background that highlights the upper-right quarter of the wheel, evoking the distinctive porthole windows of the Class 753 locomotive. At the center of the wheel, a raised circular medallion bears the diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, after the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the truncation.
