| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, drop earring, and pearl necklace, rendered in fine relief against a mirror-polished field. The peripheral legend reads 'ELIZABETH II' to the left and 'NIUE ISLAND' to the right, separated by a continuous inner border of raised beads. The date '2011' appears in the lower exergue. The portrait is executed in the fourth definitive effigy style as used on Commonwealth coinage of the period. |
