Reverse description The reverse presents a highly detailed, deeply struck proof composition commemorating the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings of June 6, 1944. In the foreground, a Canadian soldier in full battle kit is depicted crouching and peering forward, rifle in hand, with additional soldiers advancing behind him amid the chaos of the Normandy beach assault. In the background, landing craft and fortified structures evoke the theatre of war on the Norman coastline. The legend CANADA DOLLAR arcs along the upper field, flanked by Morse code dots and dashes; the commemorative dates 1944 and 2019 appear in the mid-field to the left and right respectively, with the engraver's initials TB discretely placed in the lower right field.
