Reverse description Central depiction of Cipísek, the beloved Czech animated cartoon character created by illustrator Radek Pilař, shown in a lively walking or skipping pose occupying the lower-central field. The small boy figure wears a wide-brimmed hat, a ragged coat, and boots, rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail against a polished proof field. The character's name CIPÍSEK appears in large stylised letters in the upper-right portion of the field. The engraver's monogram IH is struck at lower left, and the copyright and licensing inscription is engraved along the left rim. The purity designation Ag 999 is also included in the left-side inscription.

Additional information

Cipísek is a Czech animated mole character created by illustrator Zdeněk Miler in 1956, distinct from the better-known Krtek (the Little Mole) despite frequent confusion between the two. Niue has become the default issuing authority for Czech and Slovak collector coins through a long-standing licensing arrangement, since neither country issues its own legal tender commemoratives through foreign mints at this scale.
