Additional information

Perth Mint has produced annual lunar-themed dollars for the Australian domestic circulation market since the late 1990s, but the 2022 issue corresponds to the Year of the Tiger — the third animal in the 12-year cycle and the first Tiger year since 2010. These aluminium bronze dollars are genuine legal tender struck for circulation, though in practice most are absorbed by collectors immediately upon release through Perth Mint's coin-roll program.
