| Reverse description | The reverse presents a deeply sculpted composition evoking the Roman frontier city of Carnuntum. The ruins of a Roman arch and masonry walls dominate the left and center of the field, rendered in fine antiqued relief. To the lower left, a detailed representation of a Roman coin bearing a laureate imperial portrait — inscribed ANTONINVS PIVS — is depicted in relief. At lower center, a genuine inlaid amber cabochon is set into a recess, forming the focal point of the design. To the right, the draped torso of a classical sculptural fragment is depicted in high relief. The legend CARNUNTUM arcs along the upper right rim in stylized lettering. |
