| Obverse description | The obverse features a circular cameo at the upper centre displaying the diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the left side of the cameo and 'TOKELAU 2022' along the right. Beneath the portrait, within the cameo, appears the Tokelau coat of arms above a scrolled ribbon bearing the motto 'TOKELAU MO TE ATUA'. Below the cameo, in the lower portion of the rectangular field, the denomination 'ONE DOLLAR' is inscribed in large raised lettering, with the fineness specification '1/500 OZ FINE GOLD 999/1000' below. The entire rectangular field is adorned with an engraved flame or feather motif in the background, and the coin is framed by a reeded decorative border on all four sides. |
