Additional information

Boudicca's revolt of 60–61 AD destroyed Camulodunum, Londinium, and Verulamium in succession before Roman governor Paulinus crushed her forces somewhere in the Midlands — a location still unconfirmed by archaeology. The Cook Islands issued dozens of gold-plated commemoratives in this period under licensing arrangements that had little to do with the islands themselves; this piece is one of several hundred themed releases marketed almost entirely to collectors in Europe and North America.
