Reverse description A full-color reproduction of Sandro Botticelli's celebrated Renaissance masterpiece The Birth of Venus (c. 1484–1486) covers the entire rectangular reverse field. The goddess Venus stands centrally upon a giant scallop shell emerging from the sea, her long auburn hair flowing in the wind. To the left, the wind gods Zephyr and Aura are depicted in mid-flight, blowing a gentle breeze scattered with pink blossoms, while to the right a female figure, commonly identified as one of the Graces or the goddess Flora, reaches forward with a flowered mantle. The full-color printing technique faithfully captures the delicate palette and graceful figural style of Botticelli's original tempera composition.
