Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, diademed and draped, occupying the central field. The surrounding border features an elaborate decorative frieze of royal heraldic emblems including a crown at top, lions passant, unicorns, orbs, sceptres, and other regalia rendered in high relief against a dark field, evoking the imagery of the Royal Cypher and coronation regalia. The legend ELIZABETH II curves along the left, TOKELAU along the upper right, the date 2020 along the lower right, and ONE DOLLAR along the base, with the engraver's initials IRB below the bust. The flag of Tokelau appears at the bottom of the field.
