Reverse description Full-color reproduction of Caravaggio's celebrated oil painting Bacchus (c. 1596–1597), housed in the Uffizi Gallery, Florence, presented within an ornate gilt decorative frame applied to the square flan. The composition depicts the Roman god of wine as a semi-draped young male figure, reclining at a table and proffering a shallow wine glass with his left hand, while his right hand holds a black ribbon tied around a bunch of dark grapes. His head is wreathed with vine leaves and clusters of grapes. A ceramic bowl overflowing with seasonal fruit and foliage occupies the foreground, alongside a carafe of red wine, faithfully reproducing Caravaggio's characteristic chiaroscuro and tenebrism in vibrant polychrome color printing.
