| Additional information |
This miniature gold piece belongs to a Cook Islands series that incorporated actual legal-tender European commemoratives into its own coins — the 2 Euro Treaty of Rome piece, issued by multiple eurozone states in 2007 to mark the treaty's 50th anniversary, was physically embedded into the Cook Islands dollar. The Treaty of Rome itself, signed March 25, 1957, established the European Economic Community among six founding nations.
