Reverse description The reverse features a vibrant color reproduction of the painting 'An Angel Playing a Flageolet' by the English Pre-Raphaelite painter Edward Burne-Jones (1833–1898), applied to the recessed square field of the coin. The composition depicts a winged angel in a richly ornamented robe, rendered in the characteristic jewel-like tones and flowing linear style of the Pre-Raphaelite movement, holding a flageolet (a small flute-like instrument) to its lips. The image is faithfully transposed from the original oil painting and fills the central reverse field in full color. The square format of the coin complements the portrait-like composition of the artwork.
