Reverse description Dynamic central composition depicting Australian artillery soldiers in action during the final Allied offensives of World War I, with figures manning a field gun in vigorous motion against a battlefield backdrop. Flanking the scene is a representation of the now-destroyed Australian National Memorial sculpture of an Anzac soldier bayoneting the German imperial eagle, a monument that originally stood at Villers-Bretonneux. The inscriptions surrounding the design commemorate the key battles of the Hundred Days Offensive: Le Hamel (4 July), the Battle of Amiens (8–11 August), Mont St Quentin (31 August – 2 September), and Montbrehain (5 October 1918). The legend WWI – FREEDOM BECKONS and JULY – OCTOBER 1918 appear prominently, with the commemorative inscription 100 years ADVANCE TO VICTORY completing the design.
