| Obverse description | The sixth and final effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as engraved by Jody Clark, is depicted in right-facing profile at the centre of the rectangular field, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, pearl drop earrings, and a pearl necklace. The portrait is encircled by a wreath of lychee branches bearing clusters of fruit and foliage, rendered in fine relief against the mirror-polished field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left, with AUSTRALIA and the date 2020 continuing along the right. The denomination 1 DOLLAR appears beneath the portrait, and the engraver's initials JC are visible at the lower left of the effigy. |

| Additional information |
Perth Mint's lunar bullion program has run continuously since 1996, making it one of the longest-standing annual silver bullion series from any sovereign-backed mint. The Rat opens the twelve-year zodiac cycle, so 2020 marked the beginning of the program's third full lunar rotation — a fact the mint's marketing division made considerable use of in its promotional material that year.
The sixth portrait of Elizabeth II was sculpted by Jody Clark, introduced across Commonwealth coinage from 2015 onward. At 15.55 grams, this is a half-troy-ounce denomination, a weight tier Perth has used to capture buyers priced out of the full-ounce market.
