| Additional information |
The Great Aussie Coin Hunt series was designed explicitly as a circulation engagement campaign, with lettered coins released through till change at participating retailers — but the silver proof versions were never intended for pockets. This "L" issue is one of 26 alphabetically assigned designs in the third run of the series, which the Royal Australian Mint launched to sustain collector momentum after the first two hunts generated unusually strong public participation numbers for a modern circulation programme.
