| Reverse description | The reverse features a dynamic depiction of an Australian Kelpie sheepdog in mid-stride, herding a group of sheep in the background. The composition is overlaid upon a large stylised letter K occupying much of the right field, serving as the series identifier for this issue in The Great Aussie Coin Hunt 3. The denomination 1 DOLLAR is inscribed along the lower margin, with the word KELPIE appearing to the right in the lower field. |

| Additional information |
The Great Aussie Coin Hunt series — now in its third iteration — was conceived by the Royal Australian Mint as a circulation-engagement campaign, each letter of the alphabet assigned an object meant to evoke something distinctly Australian. The series debuted in 2019 and generated genuine public hoarding behavior, with participants pulling coins from change and trading duplicates, an effect the Mint has openly acknowledged drove mintage planning for subsequent rounds.
The 6th portrait of Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, was introduced to Australian coinage in 2019.
