The Great Aussie Coin Hunt 2 was a circulation campaign launched by the Royal Australian Mint in 2021, following the success of the original 2019 hunt, which itself drove a measurable spike in public coin handling at a time when cashless payments had been steadily eroding it. Each letter of the alphabet was assigned an Australian-themed subject, with "G" representing the galah. The campaign distributed coins through everyday retail channels — change given at supermarkets and newsagents — deliberately seeding the circulating pool rather than selling exclusively through collectors.
The sixth portrait of Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, had been adopted by the RAM in 2019.
