| Obverse description | The sixth and final definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as sculpted by Jody Clark, is depicted in right-facing profile at the centre of the coin. The Queen is portrayed wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl necklace, with finely detailed hair curls rendered in high relief. The legend ELIZABETH II and AUSTRALIA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 1 DOLLAR appears along the lower border, flanked by two raised pellets. The engraver's initials JC appear discreetly at the base of the portrait truncation. |
