Reverse description Two naturalistically rendered emus occupy the central field, depicted standing in a native Australian landscape featuring low scrub, grasses, scattered rocks, and a stylised native tree to the right. A large circular sun disc fills the background, lending a warm atmospheric quality to the composition. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark appears to the right of the emus within the field. The legend AUSTRALIAN EMU arcs along the upper border, while the inscription 2019 1OZ 9999 SILVER is incused along the lower border.

Additional information

The emu series from Perth Mint occupies an unusual niche in Australian bullion — thematically driven annual releases aimed squarely at collectors rather than pure bullion stackers, sitting alongside the longer-running Kangaroo series. The 6th Portrait of Elizabeth II, sculpted by Jody Clark and adopted by the Royal Australian Mint in 2019, appears here in one of its earlier Australian bullion applications. Clark's effigy had already been in use on British coinage since 2015, making Australia a relatively late adopter.
