Obverse description The sixth and final effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Jody Clark, dominates the obverse, depicting the crowned bust of Her Majesty facing right and wearing the George IV State Diadem and the Victorian Coronation Necklace. The portrait is rendered in fine relief against a reticulated globe-pattern field, lending the design a cartographic, celestial quality. The legend ELIZABETH II flanks the upper periphery, with AUSTRALIA and the date 2021 inscribed below, and the designer's initials JC appear at the truncation of the bust.
