Additional information

The Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales held its first show in 1823, predating the colony's separation from Van Diemen's Land and operating under conditions where livestock quality was a matter of genuine economic survival rather than competition. The RAM's pad-printing process, applied here to achieve the coloured design elements, was introduced to Australian circulation coinage in the 2010s and remains technically demanding at scale — colour adhesion on aluminium bronze presents different challenges than on silver or cupro-nickel flans.
