Obverse description The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The legend ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 1 DOLLAR encircles the portrait, with the engraver's initials IRB appearing below the truncation. The design was executed by Ian Rank-Broadley and presents the Queen in a refined, mature rendering characteristic of his coinage portraiture.
